the corcoran: peter som lecture.

i went to the peter som lecture at the corcoran last night (THOUGH YOU PROBABLY FIGURED THAT OUT ALREADY). despite the late start and technical difficulties (which he handled effortlessly and with a great sense of humor), it was really a great presentation - he showed how his collections went from inspiration (including movies like my fair lady, grey gardens, and artists from titian to diebenkorn) to sketch to runway reality. the man was a delight.
1. her daughter helped style her for the evening; she looks amazingly polished in her embellished philip lim top.
2. quasi-color-coordinated friends; the deep purple is great both as the main color and as an accent. i THINK i recognize the top on the right as being from forever 21, which i only mention because i liked it just as much as the philip lim top above, which had to have been way more $$$.
