spanish steps shoot (take 2).

instagrams by Kate Greene.
Another take on - and some PREVIEW DESCRIPTIONS of the looks from - last weekend's Spanish Steps fashion spread. Shot by Victoria Milko for Issue 6 of the Mag; the upcoming spread not only features Marie Beatriz Gauthiez as a model, but will feature text from her novel-in-progress.
All words by our Issue 6 intern, Alicia Farina:
The Spanish Steps of DuPont Circle were home to a Parisian affair last Sunday as our elegant French model, Marie, donned nostalgic pieces from Treasury Vintage. The weather was warm, the wind calm, and foot traffic just enough around the steps to garner some eager onlookers.
The first look indulged in two of Panda Head’s favorite spring trends – mint and Peter Pan collars. The pants and jewelry exhibited the cool color while a Peter Pan collar completed a cream top. An intricately beaded hat and red quilted bag added pops of color. A coral and blush turban brought an exotic flair to the second look and a set of flowers nestled in the model’s bedhead bob added playfulness to the third look. Miami-sport met Parisian street-style with accents of gold and hints of pink. Looking timeless and ethereal in a vintage swimsuit, the fourth look was shot against a weathered brick wall; vines and branches shadowing the space. An explosion of azaleas set the fifth look on fire, a cap of bright pink flowers and a party dress in green and blue coupled with a city garden display. Marie transformed into a child of the earth in the sixth look, nestled into the arms of a tree, barefoot in a floor length lace Edwardian dress.
The Spanish Steps shoot was an adventure in attitudes, moods and styles, exploring the many sides of the modern lady.
